So this is my first of 52 photos for this very neat photo blog project I'm doing with a wonderful group of ladies. Unfortunately, my point and shoot doesn't give me nearly the photos that they are producing but it's fun.
The moon is masked by ice-laden clouds
in this sanctuary of muted glow and cold
A faint hiss is on the wind
as flakes descend to the ground
The crisp air in my lungs fills me with a sense of life
Now is when the body can converse freely with the mind
When the snow covers the landscape
giving the eye a clean slate, a realm of peace
on which the mind may create, explore
until clarity reigns over ice and chill
and inner peace is fulfilled

(I hope she doesn't mind that I "borrowed" her poem...it was a perfect fit with my photos)
It has been so cold and snowy here and we are supposed to get another couple of inches tonight so I decided to go out and take some winter evening photos-especially for those of you who live in the warm states and still have flowers...honestly!
So here is my silent neighbourhood on a winter's night.
And a big hurrah to whoever can guess what this photo is depicting...
And lastly, because I am after all first and foremost a mother...two shots of my adorable little man from this week...cuddling his monkey and sniffing mommy's toes (sometimes it's better not to ask)

Great pictures Taira! I totally love the snow.

Dang it Taira, I redid my layout and I guess I didn't have your blog saved, sorry I'm late!
Love the poem you included, it does go perfect.
Hi there,
I'm the girl who wrote that poem, 'Winter Nights'. I don't mind at all that you borrowed it, in fact I think it's quite cool that you'd even want to! (thanks for quoting it). Hope you're well,
Tyann
